Our mission at Intent is to empower people to improve their nutrition and simplify their lives. Deciding what to eat is an everyday experience, but for many it's fraught with annoyance, frustration, and anxiety. We're using technology to solve this problem - to make it easy to plan out your meals and help you and your family eat healthy, eat well, save time, and save money.
We launched the beta of our app in late 2020, and we've since grown quickly. Tens of thousands of people download our app every month, we have thousands of paying customers, and people love the product.
We're a small team with a huge opportunity ahead of us - and we're looking for people with unique experiences and skills who are excited to tackle this with us.
The core of our product is generating personalized meal plans for people that are realistic and approachable. This is a non-convex optimization problem, which means thoughtful design of constraints and the solution architecture is paramount. Our backend services are responsible for this heavy lifting, and for delivering a fast and reliable product experience overall. This is where you come in - to help us design and implement scalable and performant backend services, set up production environments, and build products end-to-end. Our stack includes Node.js, Python, Postgres, and Redis.
